ESYCOM laboratory is a multi-institutional unit that brings together faculty and researchers from Univ Gustave Eiffel (UGE), The National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM).
ESYCOM is leading the laboratory project “Sensors and communication systems for cities, the environment, and people.” It is organized around three unifying themes:
- radiofrequency and photonic systems,
- miniaturized sensors for health and the environment,
- principles and devices for managing and converting mechanical, thermal, and electromagnetic energy.

History:
Initially created around activities in the field of microwave frequencies and optoelectronics applied to communications systems at the University of Marne-la-Vallée (UPEM), the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), and ESIEE, ESYCOM was recognized as a host team in 2000. ESIEE's activities in the field of MEMS sensors were added in 2003. In 2020, ESYCOM became a CNRS Joint Research Unit (UMR 9007). ESIEE Paris's clean room joined the Renatech+ network at this time. That same year, Univ Gustave Eiffel was created from the merger of UPEM and IFSTTAR, and ESIEE Paris became one of its four member schools.
